Case-mix

E’ una caratteristica misurabile di gruppi o popolazioni di pazienti che consente di descrivere e quantificare la diversità della casistica trattata dai diversi ospedali o diversi reparti e che includono pazienti con condizioni cliniche di diversa gravità e quindi con probabilità diverse di insorgenza di esiti, complicanze e di eventi correlati con la qualità dell’assistenza. La variabilità del case mix viene trattata, negli studi di valutazione di performance o di qualità dell’assistenza, attraverso procedure di case mix adjustment. –
