Terremoto: risorse dalla letteratura internazionale

L’importanza di interventi “evidence based” per guidare l’azione umanitaria in caso di eventi catastrofici quali i terremoti è sempre più riconosciuta. Un approccio basato sull’evidenza può migliorare l’efficacia e la sicurezza degli interventi promossi e aiutare a identificare con precisione le esigenze di chi deve essere aiutato.  Evidence aid (http://www.evidenceaid.org/earthquakes-resources/) nasce per promuovere un approccio evidence-based per guidare le decisioni sanitarie in caso di eventi catastrofici.

Un terremoto espone il corpo umano a una serie di rischi che includono traumi, fratture, soffocamento e, per i sopravvissuti, tutta una serie di disturbi psicologici legati alla sindrome post traumatica da stress. Sul sito di Evidence aid sono state selezionate e rese disponibili alcune revisioni sistematiche Cochrane che sintetizzano le prove di efficacia e sicurezza relative agli interventi più comunemente utilizzati in queste circostanze.
